Computing (Level 5)

The Programme

Raffles College Of Design and Commerce (RCDC)'s National Diploma in Computing, Level 5 is a course that is a perfect entry into the IT world. After finishing this one year programme, our graduates are getting employed by the largest Telecommunication, Internet Service Providers, Software Development companies, as well as computer shops and other types of IT organizations.

During their studies our participants become familiar with the fundamentals/basics, as well as more advanced issues and happenings in the IT industry. Hardware components, computer assembly, range of different operating systems and applications, software development theory and practical programming, data storage principals and database management systems, fixing PC user’s problems and dealing with help desk customers, installation/administration/troubleshooting of peer-to-peer and domain-based local area networks, several research papers – all these are covered in this amazing program, filled with very unique and exciting content.

Working on IT projects Written and practical assessments allow us to:

  • test students on their abilities to demonstrate the knowledge of theoretical principles
  • to check on their practical skills and
  • to apply a combination of both to real-world scenarios and situations

Other testing methods used are:

Multiple-choice testing, research and reporting/presenting on the findings. We encourage our students to be involved passionately in different types of IT projects and to make use of the latest technologies and developments in the IT field. That allows future graduates to stand out of the crowd and some of them receive job offers even before the course finishes.
